On Friday, May 3, 2024, the non-profit organization Open Door Medical Development organized a campaign to screen for chronic diseases in the Batoufam community. Under the leadership of Dr. Hibbert, president of the association, and in the presence of Omelda Hibbert, vice president, as well as Marcelle Gosling Kamdom, Sandrine Mafoulie Kamdem, and Max Legrand, dedicated members of the team, the day proved to be a great success.
The day began with a warm welcome from Chief Batoufam, His Majesty Nayang Toukam Innocent, who opened the doors of his community to allow the team to carry out their mission. Throughout the day, team members worked tirelessly to offer free screenings for diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and other common health issues.
The presence of Dr. Hibbert and his team was greatly appreciated by the people of Batoufam, who flocked in large numbers to benefit from these vital services. Association members took the time to listen to each patient's concerns and provide them with advice and information on how to take care of their health.
As a gesture of gratitude for their valuable work, Chief Batoufam generously provided a traditional meal to the group. It was a moment of camaraderie and sharing, where association members were able to interact with members of the community in a relaxed setting.
This day of medical awareness not only helped identify and treat chronic diseases in many residents of Batoufam, but it also strengthened the bonds between the Open Door Mission association and the local community. This event perfectly illustrates the association's commitment to the well-being of those it serves and underscores the importance of community work in the fight against diseases.
